Some important photographers I met
Hello,
First of all, I ask myself, is this post pertinent?, perhaps too honest or ingenuous?
Never mind, I just want to express from an emotional point of view what I still keep from all those people I once met, what the persons transmitted to me and what I remember and still remains.
I won’t tell any story, but just a photograph among some I took from them (if I did), and that human sediment they let in me when I (more or less) in depth met them.
I chose from their work a photograph for each of them, and if you’re interested you can find online more of their personalities and work.
Shirin Neshat
Seen from afar this woman caused me attraction, I think I attracted her somehow too. Magnetic I guess
Joseph Koudelka
Very vague, I only can say perhaps he’s a panoramic guy
Ferdinando Scianna
Like the guy in his photograph, immersed in his own world, never dilettante and knowing well the limitations of his selfishness
William Claxton
A warm guy at the end
His portrait is lost in the vastness of my negatives…
Silvia Plachy
To be nice is not enough, I can say. She thrilled me, I thrilled her, but at last that wasn’t what mattered. A cold person inside
Antoine d’Agata
A fleeting sense of belonging to nowhere (other than Magnum), that I share
Anders Petersen
Tenderness is in depth but intelligence confuses its real meaning
Larry Fink
A fantastic guy never shows himself as such
Bruno Barbey
What seems to be close is actually very far, a deference for Leica users
Rene Burry
As ready to read The man who took his wife for a hat, the important thing is not the ideas but the cigar
Martin Parr
Dismissal and ego inside an erroneous version of phlegmatic British sense of humour
William Eggleston
A sense of veneration calls my ignorance
Dougie Wallace
Shortly but encouragingly
Vineet Vohra
Wanting to share. Loving to share. The core remains inside
We all are inspired in some or other manner by the successful photographers. We use to look at their work with admiration and perhaps many times don’t take into account that they are just the same as ourselves as persons.
